Cast Biographies

On this page I'll include biographical information about the cast of my favorite TV show. Here's a sample of the format and type of the information I might include.

Shoshanna Bean ("Current Elphaba")

originated the role of Shelley in the Broadway production of Hairspray, and covered the roles of Tracy, Velma and Prudy. She toured in Leader of the Pack, was in the Off-Broadway revival of Godspell, in which she sang "Bless the Lord" (cast recording), and is featured on the Actors Fund Benefit concert recording of Hair (soon to be released!). She sang backup for Michael Jackson and friends at his 30th Anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden, and opened for Kanye West at the Hammerstein Ballroom. She is now working on her debut solo album. A northwest native, she holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Megan Hilty (Current G(a)linda)

Megan Hilty is excited  to be making her Broadway debut in Wicked! She is a recent graduate of the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and a proud member of Actors Equity. Credits include Café Puttanesca (City Theatre), Suds (OCT) and The Wild Party (CMU).

Michelle Federer (Current AND Orginal Nesarose)

Michelle originated the roles of Nell Gwynn in Jeffrey Hatcher’s Compleat Female Stage Beauty (1999 Best Supporting Actress/Pittsburgh Post) and Crystal in Water Children at CATF. Other regional credits include the 50th Anniversary production of Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful (Hartford Stage), Hay Fever and Closer (Alley Theatre).

Idina Menzel (Original Elphaba)

Idina was the original Elphaba and in my opinion is a GODESS!
Her first roll was Maureen in the original cast of "RENT"
She then had the opportuntiy to play Amneris in "Aida" in 2000
She also played Kate in "The Wild Party"
She has two CD's out and is hopefully making more soon.

Kristin Chenoweth (Original G(a)linda)

Kristin originated the role of G(a)linda the Good Witch of the North
Some of her experience includes Sally Brown in the 1999 Broadway revival of "Your'e a Good Man Charlie Brown", Marian the Librarian in "The Music Man" And she starred in "Candide"
She is known for her great comedic timing and her amazing vocal abilities, she has two CD's
